BRAND SPANKIN’ NEW SITE

publicadoCategorizado como Insights

WELCOME!

I’ve been slaving away to bring this new site to you. New design, new name, and I’m so excited! You may know me from btzdesign.com and now I’ve brought you here.

So why the name change?

When I started my escape from the corporate world and entry into the web design business I knew that the most important part of making it happen was to get started before I was ready.

As a small business owner or solo-preneur, you know that there is a lot of fear and blocks that come up in the beginning.

“Is this a good idea?”

“Will this work?”

“How do I make it happen?”

I knew that if I stayed in the planning stage for too long, I just might never get out.

So I chose the first name that came to me, related to where I live now (BTZ is short for Biarritz, France) and what I do.

After clients started rolling in and the fear of starting gone, I knew it was time for a change. As a service-based business, I knew that the best asset of my company was me, and I wanted my business to reflect that. Using my name (although greek and hard to pronounce) gives me the opportunity to show my clients that I am a human and not a faceless agency.

This isn’t a business I plan to sell and having that multi-passionate entreprenurial drive, I know I will want to expand this site into other areas in the future. Using my name gives me the opportunity to do so.

Here’s what I want you to take from this story:

Just get started. Don’t stress about your name and spend hours thinking it needs to be perfect before you start. Just get something up and know that you can always change the name down the road. The most important thing is to get the momentum going.

I’m so glad you’ve stopped by and I have a lot of free goodies and tutorials coming in the near future!

I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!

Tell me in the comments below:

1. How did you choose your business name and are you happy with your choice?

2. What is the #1 problem you have with your website and what tutorial would you love to have to help you?
